KUCHING: Leaders should use their voices not only to inform, but also to influence, inspire and serve others.
In stating this an international director of Toastmasters International has urged leaders to use communication purposefully as it carries consequences beyond the words spoken.
Hani Nur Zaihanirah Zaini International made these remarks in a keynote address at an international conference in Clark, Pampanga, the Philippines.
“Communication is not just words. It is consequence,” she said in her keynote, Beyond the Podium: Bold Voices, Bright Visions.

“We don’t discover our power by having it – we discover it when we decide to use it for something beyond ourselves,” she said.
Hani also joined a panel discussion, Reinventing Relevance: Future-Proofing Toastmasters, on maintaining the relevance of leadership development and communication in a technology-driven environment.
Toastmasters International said Hani is the first Malaysian woman elected to its board of directors.
During her visit, she also met representatives of multinational companies including Accenture, Analogue Devices and S&P Global, which partner with Toastmasters to support employee learning and leadership development.
Hani is the general manager of Faradale Holdings Group.
