KOTA SAMARAHAN: Construction of the infrastructure workshop at the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) depot in Rembus here has progressed to the brickwork stage following the completion of roofing works.
Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd, in a Facebook post, said the workshop would support the maintenance of the ART system’s infrastructure to ensure the network remained in good operating condition.
“As for the mechanical workshop, it is where the hydrogen-powered ART vehicles will be inspected, serviced and repaired to ensure they always operate safely and reliably,” it said.
Sarawak Metro said both the infrastructure and mechanical workshops would form an integral part of the Rembus Depot.
The facilities will support the maintenance of the hydrogen-powered ART fleet, feeder bus fleet and the infrastructure underpinning the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS).
