KUCHING: A compact vehicle was completely destroyed by fire in a residential area in Batu Kawa on Saturday evening (Jul 25).
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) responded to an emergency call regarding a vehicle on fire in a residential area at 5.35 pm.
Firefighters from the Kota Sentosa station were dispatched to the location and arrived at 5.45 pm.
“Upon arrival, the team confirmed that a vehicle was completely engulfed in flames. It was also reported that there were no casualties,” it said.
“The team conducted an offensive firefighting effort to extinguish the fire using water from the fire engine.”
The vehicle was 100 per cent destroyed, and the fire has been put out completely.
Once the incident area was deemed safe, the team returned to their station, ending the operations at about 6.00 pm.
