LUNDU: The Sarawak Government is strengthening coordination among implementing agencies to ensure development projects in the Tanjong Datu constituency are delivered on schedule and meet the needs of local communities.
Tanjong Datu assemblyman, Azizul Annuar Adenan, said close collaboration between all stakeholders was essential to ensure development initiatives were implemented efficiently and achieved their intended objectives.
“Development could not be carried out in isolation but required comprehensive planning and coordinated efforts among implementing agencies,” he said in a news report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS).
Azizul said this when chairing the N3 Tanjong Datu Development Dialogue (Randau Pembangunan) for the Sampadi Zone at Kampung Sampadi on Wednesday (July 29).
He said various funding sources, including the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), Malaysia Plan allocations, the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA) and state development funds, should be strategically coordinated to improve project implementation and accelerate the delivery of infrastructure and basic amenities.
He stressed that the government’s immediate priority is to continue improving essential infrastructure, including water supply, roads, utilities and public facilities, before expanding development initiatives that could stimulate economic growth and tourism in Tanjong Datu.
As such, he said the development dialogue also served as a platform to strengthen communication between elected representatives, the district administration, and implementing agencies.
He added that the engagement enabled issues and challenges at the grassroots level to be identified and addressed more effectively, ensuring development projects delivered meaningful benefits to the people.
