BETONG: Preparations for the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Sarawak Betong Zone Special Convention have entered the final stage following a full rehearsal at the Tan Sri Datuk Amar Stephen Kalong Ningkan Sports Hall here on Thursday (July 30).
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas attended the rehearsal to personally inspect the final preparations and ensure the convention proceeds smoothly.
The rehearsal covered the overall coordination of the event, including protocol, programme flow, audio-visual systems, performances and other technical aspects to ensure every segment is carried out according to plan.
Around 350 participants, comprising members of the organising committee, event personnel and volunteers, took part in the full rehearsal as part of the final preparations ahead of the convention.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is scheduled to officiate at the opening of the special convention this Saturday (Aug 1).
Also present were Deputy Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam; Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu; Betong MP, Datuk Dr Richard Rapu; Beting Maro assemblyman, Datuk Razaili Gapor; Kalaka assemblyman, Mohamad Duri; Lingga assemblywoman, Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor; and Kabong assemblyman, Datuk Mohd Chee Kadir.
