MIRI: A local man has been arrested in connection with a housebreaking case at Jalan Sze Chuan 2 here recently.
The 49-year-old allegedly broke into the house after damaging the padlock on the front door, with CCTV footage helping police trace his movements.
Acting on intelligence and information gathered, Miri Central Police Station’s Crime Prevention Operations Division tracked down and arrested the suspect at an unnumbered beachside hut along Luak, Jalan Bakam.
The team also seized several pieces of clothing from the suspect, which have since been taken as evidence to aid further investigations.
Miri police said the case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for housebreaking.
Members of the public are urged to come forward with information on criminal activities to help police keep the community safe.
