KUCHING: Sarawakians have been urged to strengthen their faith, deepen their knowledge and uphold good character while preserving harmony, unity and mutual respect in the community.
In a Facebook post today (Aug 25), Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi extended their greetings to all Muslims, particularly those in Sarawak, in conjunction with Maulidur Rasul 1448H.
In line with the theme “MADANI Dihayati Ummah Diberkati”, Wan Junaidi called on the community to work together towards building an ummah that is faithful, knowledgeable and of good character while continuing to preserve harmony, unity and mutual respect among Sarawakians.
He also reminded Muslims that Maulidur Rasul was an opportunity to remember the struggles and sacrifices of Prophet Muhammad SAW in conveying the message of Islam.
“The Prophet is an uswatun hasanah or the best example who taught the meaning of faith, trustworthiness, honesty, patience love and noble character,” he said.
Meanwhile, Muslims were urged to increase their recitation of selawat upon Prophet Muhammad SAW and practise his sunnah in their daily lives.
Wan Junaidi said love for the Prophet should also be expressed through conduct and practices that reflect the teachings of Islam.
The couple also prayed that Allah SWT would shower His mercy and blessings upon all Muslims accept their acts of worship and grant them the intercession of Prophet Muhammad SAW in the hereafter.
