SARATOK: Police have arrested a 28-year-old local man who tested positive for drugs during ‘Ops Bersepadu’ along the Pan Borneo Highway on Thursday (Sept. 3).

Saratok District Police Chief, DSP Mathew Manggie, said the arrest was made by a special task force team at around 3:00 pm at the roadside near Simpang Itop.

“Following a tip, the team conducted an inspection on a local man suspected of drug abuse activities. The suspect was detained and brought to the Saratok Police Station for a preliminary urine screening,” said Mathew.

The suspect’s urine test results returned positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.

Checks revealed the suspect has no prior criminal record.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
