BAU: Four men were arrested today (Sept 7) after three were allegedly caught with suspected syabu and all tested positive for methamphetamine.
The four, aged between 18 and 30, were arrested during ‘Ops Tapis Khas’, conducted between 9 am and 10.30 am around Kampung Peninjau Baru, Kampung Kopit and Kampung Segubang.
Bau police chief Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman said three of the suspects were each found with a plastic packet containing crystalline substances believed to be syabu.
The illicit substance weighed around 2.36g and is worth about RM240.
The trio were arrested under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for possession of drugs.
Meanwhile, a fourth suspect was also detained under Section 15(1)(a) of the same Act for abusing drugs.
Urine screening found that all four suspects tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
Mohd Haide said the suspects admitted during preliminary questioning that they had consumed syabu the day before their arrests.
Background checks found that three of them had prior records related to drug offences.
All of them are being held at Bau police lock-up to facilitate further investigations.
