LIMBANG: Persatuan Kedayan Limbang’s wait to have its own premises is now over with the handing over of a land approval letter to the association, yesterday.

The letter was presented by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan to Persatuan Kedayan Limbang chairman Haji Sahat Bagol during the Makan Tahun Perdana programme at Kampung Bukit Luba here.

Tengah said that the 1.64-acre land would enable the association to build its own premises and urged the association committee to come up with a development plan soon.

He also reminded the Kedayan on the importance of unity among them as the state continues to develop and progress further.

“GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) is fair to all and no voice from minority groups is ignored. Kedayan have their representative in the state cabinet which shows that the state government is giving equal opportunities to all,” said Tengah.

“To move together, we need a unified voice and developments in the state can only be brought by Sarawakians themselves,” he added.

During the event, Tengah also presented a personal donation of RM30,000 to the association to hold its activities.

Among those present were Awang Tengah’s wife Datuk Dayang Morliah Datuk Awang Daud, Agriculture Assistant Minister and Bukit Kota assemblyman Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail, Limbang MP Hasbi Habibollah, Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Palu Ngumbang and Lambir assemblyman Ripin Lamat.
