ROME: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg delivered a keynote address at the Immersive Learning Summit in Bologna, north of here on Wednesday.
The summit is organised by EON Reality, a multinational virtual reality and augmented reality software developer founded in 1999 and headquartered in Irvine, California.
The chief minister’s address dwelled on Sarawak’s journey in human capital development and the creation of opportunities in a digital economic environment since he took over as chief minister and towards 2030.
Abang Johari and his entourage arrived here on Sunday.
While here, he took time off to call on Malaysia’s Ambassador to Italy, Datuk Abdul Malik Melvin Castellino, at the Malaysian Embassy.
Later, the chief minister was given the honour to launch the Malaysia Week organised by the embassy in conjunction with this year’s Malaysia Day celebration with a focus on Sarawak’s tourism attractions.

The chief minister also called on Malaysia’s Ambassador to the Vatican, Westmoreland Edward Palon, a Sarawakian, at his residence.
Yesterday, courtesy of the Ambassador to the Vatican, Abang Johari and his entourage was taken on a conducted tour of the Museum, the Sistine Chapel and the St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican.
