KUCHING: Former Shah Alam High Court judge Datuk Seri Abdul Halim Aman has been appointed as the new Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), succeeding Tan Sri Azam Baki, effective May 13, 2026.
In a statement today, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar said the appointment was made with the consent of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, in accordance with Subsection 5(1) of the MACC Act 2009.
He added that the proposal had been presented by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The government expressed confidence that Abdul Halim’s experience and integrity will further strengthen governance, enhance public trust and reinforce the nation’s fight against corruption.
