KUCHING: Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Toastmasters Club was awarded the prestigious President’s Distinguished Club title by Toastmasters International at an international convention in Nassau, Bahamas recently.

The accolade represents the highest honour bestowed upon clubs within the global Toastmasters community, including the AZAM Toastmasters Club as a beacon of excellence among its peers.

“What sets AZAM Toastmasters Club apart is not just the recognition but also its commitment to growth and development of its members.

“With 11 members achieving education awards during the term, the club has successfully nurtured individuals from diverse backgrounds, empowering them with essential speaking and leadership skills to create positive impacts in their communities,” AZAM said in a press release.

It also said one of the club’s members and a past president Nur Zaihanirah Zaini was elected as the district 87 District Director for the term 2023-2024.

In her inaugural address as the district director, Nur Zaihanirah expressed her commitment to expand and establish more clubs, with the aim of supporting communities, professionals, and corporations to thrive in the volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world.

“I believe that Toastmasters can nurture exceptional leaders and forward-thinking individuals to drive progress in business and the economy,” she said.
