British High Commission and Sarawak Skills host Chevening Scholarships workshop

The British High Commission Kuala Lumpur and Sarawak Skills Group of Learning Institutions (Sarawak Skills) joined forces to organise an informative Chevening Scholarships Information Session and Workshop, held on Sept 7 at the Sarawak Skills headquarters in Tabuan Jaya.

The event drew participation from around 70 attendees eager to learn about this prestigious scholarship opportunity.

The offer comprehensive funding for a one-year master’s degree programme at any UK university, with no age restrictions. The scholarship covers various aspects, including university tuition fees, a monthly stipend, travel expenses to and from the UK, arrival and departure allowances, one visa application cost, and a travel grant to attend events in the UK.

Sarawak Skills Corporate Service deputy executive director Amy Francis Najur expressed her gratitude to the participants and highlighted Sarawak Skills’ longstanding relationship with the British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur.

She emphasised the institution’s commitment to offering globally-recognised programmes from the United Kingdom, including the popular Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, a programme they have been offering since 2001.

Additionally, applications for the Chevening Scholarships for the 2024/2025 academic year will open on Sept 12 and close on Nov 7, 2023. Interested individuals can find more information on the Chevening Scholarships website: chevening.org/apply
