KUCHING: The Kota Sentosa 2024 Christmas Parade, held on December 1, was a lively affair despite the drizzle, which did not dampen the spirits of some 1,000 participants.

Participants began gathering as early as 6 pm at the Mile 7 Traders Hall, where the programme commenced with a hymn and worship service.

This was followed by a Gospel reading by the organising chairman, Pastor Greman Ujang, and an opening prayer that set a warm and uplifting tone for the evening.

The rain subsided around 7 pm, allowing the parade to begin. Pastor Greman led the procession, accompanied by Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap and several other distinguished guests.

The parade, featuring nine local churches, symbolised community unity as participants donned blue and light blue uniforms paired with Christmas hats.

They sang Christmas carols and waved warmly to the enthusiastic crowds lining the roadside.

Adding to the festive spirit, participants distributed sweets to the audience, embodying the giving nature of Christmas.

Several decorated vehicles, adorned with Christmas-themed designs, further enhanced the celebratory atmosphere with their creativity and charm.
