KUCHING: The Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) and the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Salak successfully organised a ‘gotong-royong’ programme today (Dec 29).
“Aligned with the #LCDAprihatin 2024 theme, which emphasises care and concern in LCDA project areas and its subsidiaries, the programme also seeks to foster cooperation and strengthen ties between both parties through the ‘gotong-royong’ activity,” LCDA said in a statement.
A total of 50 participants joined the community effort as part of LCDA Prihatin’s 2024 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The primary objective of the programme was to repair damaged and deteriorating belian wood walkways, which have been affected by bad weather and frequent use.

“This will ensure the comfort and convenience of the villagers,” it added.
The LCDA also said it plans to continue its CSR programmes in Kampung Salak next year, with a greater focus on education and enhancing the village’s liveliness.
Later, the event saw the handing over of a mock cheque by LCDA acting general manager Kusyairi Bostani to Penghulu Wahid Mat, representing the state-owned statutory body’s contribution to the programme.
Among those present were Kampung Salak village chief Ismail Kahaid, staff of LCDA.
