BETONG: A motorcyclist died while receiving treatment after he crashed into a stationary lorry at Jalan Serembang-Manggut on Friday (Nov 13).
Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the incident occurred around 2.40pm when the motorcycle was believed to have gone out of control and crashed into a lorry parked at the roadside.
As a result of the crash, the victim identified as Ricky Chaong, 47, sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead while receiving treatment at Betong Hospital.
He pointed out that the lorry driver, on the other hand, was unharmed in the incident.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
