KUALA LUMPUR: Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) is stepping up efforts to strengthen its ceremonial uniform procedures and band asset management through a benchmarking visit to several key agencies in Malaya.
Led by DBKU director Ramzi Abdillah, the delegation visited the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), and the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) to gain insights into best practices and management systems at the national level.
According to Ramzi, the initiative aims to align DBKU’s band and ceremonial operations with national standards while improving efficiency and professionalism.
“The visit provides valuable exposure and opportunities for knowledge sharing with established agencies that have long practised structured and effective band management,” he said.

Among the main objectives of the benchmarking visit were to observe the policies and procedures for ceremonial uniforms and parade formations, study band asset management including maintenance and inventory control, and understand vehicle management procedures such as towing, storage, and disposal.
The delegation also explored enforcement plans and strategies to identify the latest approaches in operational planning and implementation.
“Through this visit, we hope to strengthen DBKU’s internal procedures and establish a more professional, organised band management system in Kuching,” Ramzi added.
The visit further served as a platform for the delegation to exchange ideas on band training, official ceremonial protocols, and high-impact asset management, reinforcing DBKU’s image as a disciplined, prestigious, and integrity-driven local authority.
