SIBU: The first exco meeting of the Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) Sibu for the 2026-2028 session was held at Li Hua Hotel Meeting Room here recently, marking the official start of the new term for the association’s leadership.
The meeting, chaired by Deri Ng, was attended by 12 exco members physically, while three others participated online, reflecting a high commitment in ensuring the smooth planning and implementation of the association’s agenda.
Speaking at the event, Ng stressed the importance of each exco member understanding and implementing their respective roles and responsibilities productively, proactively and focusing on achieving the association’s goals.
Among the main objectives of the meeting was to discuss DBNA’s planning and direction for the 2026-2028 session, including formulating a more structured and impactful annual activity plans.
In addition, the meeting also emphasised efforts to strengthen the association’s role in providing services to the Bidayuh community in Sibu district.
The discussion also covered the development of education for Bidayuh children as a long-term priority, in addition to strengthening community welfare initiatives and the preservation and development of Bidayuh cultural heritage.
