MIRI: A double-storey house in Permyjaya caught fire this afternoon (June 28), with flames tearing through about 60 per cent of the property.
Firefighters from the Lutong Fire and Rescue Station were alerted at 12.17 pm and arrived at the scene 14 minutes later.
A team of six firefighters, using one fire engine, tackled the fire with water from a nearby hydrant. The operation was also supported by personnel from the Miri Fire and Rescue Station, police, and the Malaysian Red Crescent.
No injuries were reported, and operations ended at 2.10 pm.
Fire officials said the cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
