SIBU: A septuagenarian was reported missing yesterday (Nov 29) after he failed to return home at Lorong 1B Sibu Jaya since last Monday.
The victim is identified as Ling Siew Meau, 73.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said Ling, a skinny man standing at about 172 cm, was last seen without a shirt and wearing only a pair of shorts.
He is also reported to be a kidney and Alzheimer patient.
Firemen from Sibu Jaya station was deployed to the scene after receiving a call from Sibu Jaya police at around 12.15 pm.
According to a police report, Ling left his house for Sibu Jaya town around 3 pm on Monday, but as of the report lodged at 8.19 pm on Tuesday, he had not returned home.
At press time, a search and rescue (SAR) operation is being carried out and Ling is yet to be found.
