LIMBANG: A 75-year-old woman was rushed to hospital after collapsing with severe weakness and headaches at Limbang’s central market on Friday morning (May 8).
The incident unfolded at the Tamu Limbang building, where members of the public alerted the Malaysian Civil Defence Force after the woman was reportedly unable to walk.
According to the Limbang District Operations Control Centre, the emergency call was received at 11.02 am.
A four-member response team from the Malaysian Civil Defence Force, led by Corporal Sylviana Chua, was dispatched two minutes later in an ambulance.
The team arrived at the scene, about seven kilometres from the district operations centre, within 11 minutes and found the elderly woman seated and complaining of intense headaches and physical weakness.
Emergency responders carried out an initial assessment before transporting her to Limbang Hospital for further treatment at about 11.18 am.
The operations were completed shortly afterwards, with the rescue team returning to base once the patient had been safely handed over to hospital authorities.
The Malaysian Civil Defence Force urged members of the public to contact emergency services immediately in the event of medical distress or other emergencies.
