Actress Ezzanie Jasny has dismissed claims that she deliberately sparked controversy after posting a cryptic message about friendship on Threads that left many followers speculating about its meaning.
The 27-year-old said the post was nothing more than a social experiment to observe how netizens would react.
“I wasn’t trying to create any controversy. I was simply voicing what many people online think. Threads users enjoy sharing their opinions, so I wanted to see the responses,” she said.
“It was just a social experiment. No one asked me to do it, and I wasn’t worried about how people would respond in the comments.
“It wasn’t directed at anyone in particular, and I don’t think anyone was offended by what I wrote,” she said.
Elaborating, she said the idea came to her on the spur of the moment as a way to pass the time and read the variety of opinions shared by social media users.
“Sometimes you get bored, so you do something different. My mind is usually occupied with work, so I thought I’d spend some time reading what people had to say on Threads,” she said.
Asked about the perception that Threads has become a toxic social media platform, Ezzanie said users’ experiences largely depend on the type of content they engage with.
“I usually look for positive content, so I don’t see much negativity on my Threads feed.
“Thankfully, all the comments I’ve received so far have been positive and encouraging,” she added.
Earlier, Ezzanie attracted widespread attention after sharing a post about trust in friendships, prompting many to believe she was expressing disappointment over the actions of someone close to her.
In the post, she wrote: “I’m tired of people whose words don’t match their actions. That’s why I find it difficult to trust what people say. I hope I’ll become wiser in choosing who I call a friend.”
However, Ezzanie has now clarified that the post was not aimed at any individual and was never intended to hint at a personal dispute.
