KUCHING: A 45 year -old man, who apparently plummeted down a ravine at the back of Semuja Immigration Detention Centre (Depot) in Serian yesterday morning, was rescued and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

According to Sarawak Fire and Rescue department operation centre, a team of 11 firemen from Serian fire station led by PPgB James Gani were deployed to the scene upon responding to an alert on the incident at 9.53am.

The man, a staff of Land and Survey Department reportedly lost his balance and fell about 50 metre down the hillside.

He sustained injuries on his legs due to the fall.

Prior to the incident, the man was reportedly conducting land surveying work there.
