KUCHING: Lunar New Year in Sarawak saw high-profile visits that brought together political leaders, foreign diplomats, and local community members, showcasing harmony and festive goodwill.
On the first two days of the celebrations, Sarawak Australian Business Chamber president, Rodger Chan Siong Boh, hosted a series of distinguished guests at his residence.
“The visits provided an opportunity for the leaders and community members to exchange New Year greetings and strengthen ties,” he said in his statement issued today.
Among them were Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof, who also serves as Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation; the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia, Abdullah Zulkifli; several federal and state ministers, deputy ministers, state secretaries, permanent secretaries, department heads and close friends.

State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki also visited Chan’s residence to convey his festive wishes.
Other notable attendees included Sarawak Deputy Minister of Transport, Datuk Henry Harry Jinep; Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of International Trade; Industry and Investment, Datuk Lester Matthew; Deputy State Secretary, Datuk Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel; State Attorney-General, Datuk Seri Saferi Ali; and Sarawak Education Director, Omar Mahli.
