DARO: A Form Four student was electrocuted while taking ablution water at a secondary school here on Wednesday night (May 7).
Matu Daro police chief DSP Rahim Mihos said the incident, reported at about 8pm, involved three male students.
He said the 16-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
Rahim said two other students suffered electric shock.
“A 15-year-old Form Three student was rushed to Daro Hospital for further treatment before being referred to the intensive care unit (ICU) at Sibu Hospital.
“Another 15-year-old student did not sustain any injuries,” he said in a statement.
Rahim added that Sarawak Energy had been informed to disconnect the electricity supply and ensure the area was safe.
The body was taken to Daro Hospital for further action.
The case is still under investigation.
