KUCHING: Police have arrested four men within hours of an alleged house robbery at Lorong Lapangan Terbang here on May 18.
Kuching police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said police received a report on the armed gang robbery at about 8.29 am.
Acting on information, he said a police team arrested four local men aged between 30 and 45 at about 3.20 pm on the same day.
“Initial checks found all suspects have no previous criminal records,” he said.
Police also seized a Proton Iswara believed to have been used in the robbery, as well as several mobile phones to assist investigations.
All suspects have been remanded for seven days to facilitate investigations.
The case is being investigated under Sections 395/397 of the Penal Code for gang robbery with weapons.
Alexson advised the public to strengthen home security measures, including installing CCTV cameras and alarm systems, as well as ensuring doors and gates are locked, especially at night.
