KUCHING: Sarawak is rapidly gaining international recognition and positioning itself as a benchmark for other states, driven by its strong political stability and well-defined development policies.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said the state’s reputation is strengthening, not only at the national level but also gaining global attention, including from the European Union and the United States.

“Because of this, many are coming to Sarawak. If we look at it, ambassadors from the European Union have all come to Sarawak, as well as those from the United States.

“Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has also been invited to share views on this new economy, particularly in hydrogen production.

“So, seize this opportunity, and we are confident we can move forward and further enhance development in Sarawak,” he said.

He was speaking at the Ministry for International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED) 2026 Hari Raya Aidilfitri gathering here, on Wednesday (Apr 15).

He added that Sarawak has also established a legal framework to ensure that every investment boosts investor confidence, whether foreign direct investment (FDI) or domestic direct investment (DDI), with all investments guaranteed and well protected.

He called on all staff, including agencies under the ministry to work together as a team and improve work methods with greater creativity.

“By doing so, we can implement the right strategies in carrying out our duties and responsibilities.

“We must also ensure that Sarawak continues to be a key hub for investment,” he said.
