MIRI: An Asian glossy starling was rescued after it was found entangled with a kite string outside a building along Jalan Permaisuri this morning.
The fortunate encounter occurred when a 27-year-old woman, enroute to work, discovered the distressed bird hanging from the string.
Concerned for its well-being, she promptly reached out to the Civil Defence Force (APM) Miri for assistance at around 8.05 am.
Responding swiftly to the call, four APM members were despatched to the scene to perform the rescue deed.
The team managed to free the bird from its predicament by carefully pulling the string by using a PVC pipe.
Following the successful rescue, the bird was released and the operation concluded at 8.40 am.
