MIRI: A half-foot-long snake found inside a home here triggered an emergency response from the Fire and Rescue Department today (May 26), prompting firefighters from the Lutong station to rush to the scene.
Personnel from the station received the distress call at 10.35 am reporting the presence of the reptile inside a residence at Lorong 2-1, Permyjaya.
A five-member team was immediately dispatched in a Scania fire rescue tender.
Upon arriving at the scene at 10.48 am, firefighters confirmed that the snake was still inside the house.
After conducting a rapid size-up assessment, the team carried out a capture operation using specialised snake-handling equipment.
The snake was successfully secured and the area was declared safe shortly afterwards.
The operation concluded at 11.05 am.
