KUCHING: Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, have postponed their planned pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia this year due to unavoidable technical reasons.

In an official statement issued today by Astana Negeri Sarawak, it was confirmed that the Head of State and Toh Puan have agreed to defer their scheduled hajj pilgrimage to the following year.
The statement, signed by Datuk Seri Syed Hamzah Syed Paie, the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, expressed sincere appreciation to all parties who had facilitated preparations for the pilgrimage.
“Astana would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS), Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS), Tabung Haji, and all those involved in ensuring the arrangements were in place,” it said.
Despite the change in travel plans, the Governor remains thankful for the support and prayers received in anticipation of the pilgrimage.
