SARIKEI: Healthcare workers remain the backbone of the nation’s medical system, with their continued sacrifice and frontline service vital to safeguarding lives and sustaining treatment delivery during critical situations.
Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities and Sarikei Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, said hospital personnel play a central role in ensuring healthcare services remain efficient, humane and accessible to the public.
He said their contributions extend beyond professional responsibilities, particularly during emergencies when they help maintain continuity of care and public safety.
“Their presence on the frontline reflects leadership through service,” he said when officiating the 20th anniversary celebration of Sarikei Hospital here on Saturday (April 18).
Huang, who is also Repok assemblyman, described the healthcare sector as a key pillar in safeguarding public wellbeing and supporting social stability.
He stressed that appreciation for healthcare workers must be translated into sustained efforts to strengthen the healthcare system, including improving facilities and creating a more conducive working environment.
He added that the dedication of healthcare personnel would remain an important part of the nation’s development history, especially in facing major challenges that require strong commitment and sacrifice.
