KUCHING: Residents are urged to be prepared for a period of continuous heavy rain as the monsoon surge intensifies across the region.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) had issued a continuous rain warning for the state.
According to its latest weather models, the monsoon surge was expected to bring persistent rainfall to several areas, including Sarawak, from December 16 to 22.
The department also extended its continuous rain warning for northern and eastern Peninsular Malaysia until December 19.
