KUCHING: The International Energy Week (IEW) Expo and Summit is set to take place at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) from July 15 to 17.

Organised by Informa Markets Malaysia in partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Sarawak (MEESty) and supported by Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak), IEW 2025 serves as a key milestone and catalyst for future clean energy initiatives.

The theme, “From Sarawak to the World: Journey to Clean Energy Leadership”, highlights Sarawak’s commitment to spearhead the global transition towards clean energy.

According to the Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Sarawak, Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, the event will showcase cutting-edge advancements in renewable energy technologies, including hydrogen power, solar energy, and carbon capture.

Dr Hazland noted that the IEW 2025 aims to place Sarawak as a global leader in sustainable energy and foster innovation and international collaborations.

Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to officially launch IEW 2025, which aligns with Sarawak’s Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 by serving as a platform to promote renewable energy initiatives and attract investment opportunities.

The summit anticipates over 6,500 attendees from more than 25 countries, including the participation of over 400 companies, to generate actionable policy and foster collaboration, establishing Sarawak as an Asean clean energy innovation hub.
