KUCHING: A Toyota Alphard caught fire near a Petros petrol station in Batu Kawa here on Sunday night (Feb 8), but no injuries were reported.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received a call at about 8.29pm and arrived at the scene within seven minutes.
Initial checks found the fire involved about 15 per cent of the vehicle, confined to the engine compartment, and had already been extinguished by members of the public before firefighters arrived.
Firefighters from the Batu Lintang station carried out further inspections to ensure there was no risk of the fire reigniting.
The team wrapped up the operation and returned to the station at about 8.46pm.
