SARATOK: Police arrested a local man, believed to be a drug addict, following a tip-off from members of the public.
According to Saratok district police chief DSP Mathew Manggie, a task force under Ops Tapis received information from the public regarding a man suspected of drug abuse.
“On Feb 7, the task force was dispatched to Jalan Kampung Bunga Raya, Saratok, and successfully apprehended the suspect.
“The 30-year-old man was brought to the Saratok police station for a urine test and tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” he said.
The suspect has prior criminal and narcotics records, and the case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
