MIRI: A man ran amok on Thursday evening after his father refused his demands for cash.

The man also damaged several things at his family’s place in a longhouse at Taman Tuanku Abdul Rahman Lambir here.

Following the incident, his father, 77, lodged a police report.

Miri Criminal Investigation Department officers later arrested the 30-year-old the next day (yesterday) around 6pm.

Miri police chief ACP Hakemal Hawari, when contacted, confirmed the arrest.

The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief.
