MATU DARO: A 24-year-old man was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to criminal intimidation and mischief involving his mother in Kampung Penuai here.
Matu Daro Police Chief, DSP Rahim Mihos, said the suspect had threatened to kill his mother if she did not give him money.
He also damaged parts of the house during the incident.
The suspect was arrested by the district Criminal Investigation Department and tested positive for amphetamine/methamphetamine.
Checks also revealed he had three previous records related to criminal and drug offences.
The case was investigated under Sections 506 and 427 of the Penal Code.
He was charged today (April 16) and will serve his sentence at Sibu Prison.
