MUKAH: A 34-year-old local man was arrested after police found him in possession of suspected drugs during a raid at a petrol station here on Friday (April 17).
Mukah Police Chief, DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias, said the suspect was detained at about 10:50 am during an integrated crime prevention operation.
“The raid was carried out at a toilet in the petrol station, where checks led to the discovery of a transparent plastic tube and a red straw containing crystalline substances believed to be methamphetamine,” he said in a statement.
The seized drugs weighed an estimated 0.54 gramme.
A urine test conducted on the suspect returned positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
He is being investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 15(1)(a) of the same Act.
The suspect, who works as an oil palm plantation labourer, has been remanded for four days until April 22 to assist in investigations.
