KUCHING: A 34-year-old local man was arrested after police seized drugs believed to be methamphetamine during a raid at a house in Kampung Semerah Padi, Petra Jaya, on Apr 9.
Kuching police chief Alexson Naga Chabu said the suspect was detained at about 2.05pm.
He said a search on the suspect led to the discovery of 11.23gm of the substance, estimated to be worth RM1,235.
“Initial urine screening tests also found the suspect positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” he said.
Alexson added that checks showed the suspect had no prior criminal record.
“The case is being investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.
