MARUDI: Heavy rains since Sunday have caused several low-lying areas here to be flooded.
Miri Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) zone six chief Supt Law Poh Kiong said a team of firemen from Marudi had been despatched to the affected areas to monitor the floods.
“Five areas are reported to be inundated following to non-stop rains. They are Marudi town, Kampung Padang Kerbau, Kampung Cina, Kampung Daganga Kampung Narum,” he said.
However, no evacuations have been carried out so far as the situation is still under control.
As of today (Nov 15), the floodwaters had not subsided.
