MCPF seeks stronger crime prevention partnerships

KUCHING: The Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) Sarawak chapter is seeking to strengthen collaboration with the government, private sector and local communities to enhance crime prevention efforts across the state.

The matter was discussed during a courtesy call by the foundation’s delegation on Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar at the Astana Negeri Sarawak today (Jul 6).

Wan Junaidi and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, received the delegation led by MCPF Sarawak chairman Datuk Seri Johnny Ch’ng Ewe Gee.

Astana Sarawak in a statement said during the meeting, the delegation introduced the foundation’s leadership and shared its plans to strengthen crime prevention through strategic partnerships involving government agencies, the private sector and the community.

“They also discussed initiatives to enhance public awareness on crime prevention, strengthen community safety and promote a safer and more harmonious society.

“The Head of State expressed his appreciation for MCPF Sarawak’s commitment to supporting the government’s efforts to create a safer environment through community-based crime prevention initiatives,” it said.

Also present were HELP University founder Datuk Professor Dr Paul Chan Tuck Hoong, Datuk Mohammad Kepli Ahmad, Datuk Dr Amin Khan, Datuk Kennard Ch’ng Ewe Kok, Mah Yoke Keong, Chan Eu Khin, Ng Yim Seong, Dr Rajan Thangaveloo, Councillor Thomas Sim and Leonard Sabu.
