KUALA LUMPUR: The wife of Head of State, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah received a special honour from Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK) in conjunction with the university’s 24th Convocation ceremony on Saturday, when an orchid species was named after her as Orchid Fauziah.

The newly developed hybrid orchid from the Phalaenopsis hybrid species showcases its own distinctive beauty through soft hues and unique, captivating patterns.

The naming of the orchid symbolises recognition of the personality and contributions of Fauziah, who is described as a woman of noble character, modest demeanour, yet possessing remarkable authority and presence.

In an excerpt from the Pro-Chancellor of UNIRAZAK’s Datuk Mohamed Nizam Abdul Razak speech, he expressed his highest appreciation for the active involvement of Fauziah in the field of sports, not only as a participant but also as an organiser of various events that have contributed to the development and promotion of a healthy lifestyle.

He also highlighted her significant contribution to the aviation industry, which has spanned more than two decades—an involvement that is rarely highlighted yet has had a substantial and lasting impact.

This recognition is regarded as deeply meaningful, with Orchid Fauziah hoped to become a symbol of love, gentleness, resilience, and excellence of Malaysian women. It is also hoped to continue serving as a source of inspiration for present and future generations.

UNIRAZAK extends its highest appreciation for the contributions and exemplary role demonstrated by Fauziah, in line with the university’s aspirations to honour individuals who have made meaningful contributions to society and the nation.
