SRI AMAN: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) members have been urged to uphold unity, consensus and commitment to maintain Sarawak’s political stability, which is seen as the foundation for the state’s continued progress.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said said continued commitment and close cooperation among party members are essential to support the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and sustain the state’s development agenda for the benefit of the people.
He said the state’s political stability has enabled the government to effectively plan and implement various policies and development projects that benefit the people, particularly in rural areas.
“The strength of PBB has always been rooted in unity, loyalty and consensus among its members.
“As long as we remain united and stand firmly behind the leadership of the Sarawak Premier, we will continue to enjoy the political stability that forms the foundation of development and progress in the state,” he said.
He said this when officiating the Ngiling Tikai Gawai Dayak 2026 celebration organised by the PBB Lingga Branch on Sunday afternoon (Jun 29).
Uggah said political stability has also enabled various development projects to be carried out in the Lingga area, improving infrastructure, stimulating economic growth and raising the standard of living of the community.
At the same event, he announced a RM20,000 contribution to the organising committee in recognition of its efforts in ensuring the success of the Ngiling Tikai Gawai Dayak 2026 celebration.
He also expressed appreciation to Lingga assemblywoman Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor, who chaired the organising committee, along with all members for their dedication and cooperation in ensuring the smooth running of the event.
Also present were Batang Lupar Member of Parliament Mohamad Shafizan Kepli, Senator Susan Chemerai Anding, and PBB Lingga Branch leaders.
