BINTULU: Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) has launched a new digital platform comprising its official website and online membership system.
PDP secretary Datuk Anyi Ngau said the initiative will modernise the party’s administration, streamline membership management and broaden public participation, particularly among youths.
He said the implementation of the digital platform must comply with the party’s Constitution and existing procedures, including the support and verification process at the divisional level, to ensure all matters are carried out according to established guidelines.
“Whatever we do must be in line with the party’s Constitution. This digital platform must comply with the Constitution as well as the spirit of cooperation within Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS),” he said during the PDP Digital Transformation and Unity Gathering held here recently.
He also reminded members that the terms of the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) and Parliament are nearing their end, and the party must utilise the remaining time to strengthen its organisation and foster unity among members.
He said early preparations are crucial to ensure PDP remains ready to face an election, which can be held at any time in accordance with the provisions of the State and Federal Constitutions.
“Now is the right time for us to organise our structure and strengthen unity so that PDP remains a relevant component of GPS. When PDP becomes stronger, GPS will also become stronger, and we can continue moving together in developing this state,” he said.
Meanwhile, PDP Youth chief Yiak Chiong Wei said the launch of the official website and online membership platform reflected the party’s commitment to becoming more open, efficient and people-oriented.
He said the digital transformation was not merely about modernising the party’s administration, but also aimed at bringing PDP closer to the people, strengthening ties among members and making it easier for more individuals who share the party’s aspirations to join PDP.
