KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg welcomes the preparations undertaken for the Sarawak Day 2026 celebration, which will be held in Sibu from July 20 to 22.
According to a Facebook posting by Sarawakku, the Sarawak Day 2026 celebration committee paid a courtesy visit to the Premier today at Satria Pertiwi here, to present the official invitation and brief him on the progress and arrangements of the upcoming celebration.
“The programme is expected to feature a range of activities aimed at fostering unity and public participation across the state.
“Among the planned events are the Sarawak Day Exhibition, Interfaith Thanksgiving Ceremony, Unity Walk, Townhall session, Zumba programme, and a People’s Concert, bringing together communities from all walks of life,” it said.
The Premier also expressed hope that the celebration will serve as a meaningful platform to strengthen unity among Sarawak’s multi-ethnic society, while deepening appreciation of the state’s history, heritage, and development aspirations.
Among those present were Minister of Transport, who is also the minister in charge of the event, Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin, and Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment, Datuk Len Talif Salleh.
