
KUCHING: A Buffy Fish owl was safely handed over to the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) Miri region office on Tuesday (June 7).
The corporation, in a statement, said a member of the public found the yellow eyed creature by a roadside at Tanjung Berlipat Niah village.
“The owl is in good condition and without any injury,” SFC stated.
SFC also distributed a Protected Wildlife leaflet to the Samaritan to raise awareness on the importance of protected animal ecosystem against human encroachments.
In a separate occasion, SFC Kuching region office received a pangolin and a pangopup (baby pangolin) which were handed over by a member of the public.
“The gentleman found the pangolin and its pangopup on a roadside in Simunjan on Monday morning (June 6),” it said.
SFC disclosed that the pangolin and pangopup were then released to its natural habitat.
