KUCHING: The Sarawak government remains steadfast in its commitment to strengthening strategic cooperation with the federal government in public service matters, in line with the spirit and aspirations of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said the convening of the Working Committee Meeting on Public Service Matters for the States of Sabah and Sarawak under the MA63 Implementation Action Council demonstrates the strong commitment and dedication of both parties.
He said the meeting is important in ensuring that issues concerning service structures, staffing, human capital development and the welfare of civil servants are addressed in a fair and inclusive manner.
“The Sarawak government greatly appreciates the continuous efforts of the federal government, particularly the Public Service Department, in coordinating public service affairs in Sarawak and Sabah.
“The state government remains fully committed to providing close cooperation to ensure that every decision reached brings long-term benefits, not only to the public service but also to the people as a whole,” he said.
He made the remarks at a dinner held in conjunction with the Working Committee Meeting on Public Service Matters for the States of Sabah and Sarawak here on Tuesday.
Mohamad Abu Bakar also expressed his appreciation to the Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz, as well as delegates from the Public Service Department and the Sabah Government who were present.
He added that the dinner provided a platform to further strengthen ties and collaborative networks between the federal government and the Sarawak government.
He expressed confidence that the meeting would yield comprehensive and inclusive outcomes with long-term impact in efforts to enhance governance and establish a sustainable public service system in Sabah and Sarawak.
