SARATOK: Police issued 24 traffic summonses during Op Bersepadu conducted across hot spots in the district on Thursday afternoon (Sept 24).
Saratok district police chief DSP Mathew Manggie said the operation ran from 3pm to 5pm along KM 408 of the Pan Borneo Highway as well as around Saratok and Roban towns.
“A total of 11 personnel, comprising one officer and 10 police pseronnel were deployed for patrol and snap check duties.
“The aim of the operation is to curb index crime rates, particularly vehicle thefts and increase police presence in the district.
“During the operation, a total of 115 individuals (85 men and 35 women) along with 100 vehicles were inspected,” he said.
Apart from issuing 24 traffic summonses, police also raided a gambling premise in Roban.
Mathew added that the operation proceeded smoothly without any untoward incidents, despite hazy weather conditions throughout the afternoon.
