KUCHING: The Sarawak Digital Mall has recorded RM11.9 million in sales to date, with more than 1,000 participants and 350 sellers benefiting from TikTok Shop stimulus packages.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said the initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED) in collaboration with the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) and TikTok Malaysia, has proven successful in empowering local entrepreneurs to tap into the global digital market.
“Through the TikTok Shop Stimulus programme, sellers across Sarawak have seen remarkable growth, including Miri-based brand, Consfume, which achieved RM540,000 in monthly sales,” he said.
He said when officiating the TikTok Shop Live Selling Competition under the Sarawak Digital Mall campaign at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) today.

Awang Tengah, who is also MINTRED Minister, said the initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and dynamic digital ecosystem that empowers youth, women and rural entrepreneurs.
He noted that the Sarawak Digital Mall began in 2023 with only 105 local sellers, yet managed to generate more than RM1 million in sales within its first year.
Following this success, a two-year partnership was established in 2024 to promote the Sarawak Digital Mall Pesta Lokal globally.
To further accelerate digital participation, he said micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) can benefit from several state assistance schemes, including the Go Digital Programme, which provides grants of up to RM10,000 for hardware, software and digital services.
“Meanwhile, grants such as GERAK and USTEV offer up to RM20,000 to help graduates and technical school leavers start their ventures, while soft loan schemes like SPIKS and the Sarawak Micro Credit Scheme (SKMS) provide crucial financing for MSMEs to grow and innovate,” he added.
Awang Tengah urged entrepreneurs to seize the opportunity to showcase their talents and proudly promote Sarawak-made products through the TikTok Shop Live Selling Competition.
“The Sarawak Government will continue to support initiatives that drive digitalisation, strengthen industries, and open new doors of opportunity for all.
“Together, let’s build a vibrant digital economy that uplifts communities and positions Sarawak as a leading hub for digital trade and entrepreneurship,” he said.
